The Classrooms That Made Us” — By Acharya Prakhar Dixit

In recent days, I’ve noticed a quiet shift — students drifting away from the warmth of regular schools and graduation programs, opting instead for digital shortcuts or alternate paths. While times evolve, I find myself reflecting with deep emotion on the golden days of my own academic journey.

Bishop Cotton Boys’ School, Bangalore — the corridors still echo in my memory with the laughter of young minds, the morning assemblies, the nervous excitement before results. Christ University — a place where knowledge met curiosity, and discipline walked hand-in-hand with freedom.

We loved going to classes. Not because we had to, but because we wanted to. There was something sacred about showing up — notebooks in hand, ideas in mind, and dreams in our hearts. The late-night assignments weren’t burdens, they were badges of effort. The weekend plans with friends, the simple joy of grocery runs or cold coffee breaks — all of it shaped us. Those were the moments that quietly taught us responsibility, friendship, resilience, and most of all — independence.

Stepping out of our comfort zones wasn’t a challenge, it was a journey. A journey that molded us. Even today, from 2009 to 2025, I stay in touch with the friends, teachers, and mentors who walked those paths with me. Our conversations may have changed, but the connection hasn’t.

Every single day, I still challenge myself — one step higher, ten steps further. That fire, that energy… it all began back then. Those institutions weren’t just campuses, they were crucibles that forged our will.

The value of studying at the right place, with the right people, can never be overstated. It stays with you — in your words, your work, your worldview. It is something I will always honor, and forever cherish.

To those walking a different path today — I only hope you find what we were lucky to have. A place that not only taught us how to think, but how to live.
